building with PowerPlay 6.6 / Series 7 Report Building with PowerPlay 6.6 is a two-day course designed for report authors, IT professionals and business analysts. The focus is on the creation of professional reports using PowerPlay. Participants will be instructed on how to use and understand PowerCube data in their reports, thereby enabling them to access critical corporate data to make important business decisions. In order to become effective report authors, students will receive training in critical areas such as standard reports, performing and adding calculations, advanced use of nesting and formatting techniques. The course is split into two days, the first looking at Explorer and analysis of the data, the second investigating the building of customised reports and working with calculations in Reporter.

6.6 / Series 7 Data Exploration for the Web The introduction to PowerPlay Web is a one day course which will allow students to identify and apply the skills needed to use PowerPlay Web and effectively find, interpret and report on business data. Fundamental PowerPlay tools - drill down, replace categories and change display - are combined with sorting, filtering, formatting, nested crosstabs and charts so participants learn to discover trends and analyse data. A combination of lectures, class discussions, class demonstrations and workshops ensure that students gain the knowledge and skills needed to use PowerPlay Web to improve decision making and effectively monitor business performance.

building with Impromptu 6.0 / Series 7 Report Building with Impromptu 6.0 is a two-day course designed to teach report builders, analysts and administrators how to create, organise, customise and format reports. The course will provide users with the skills to build reports that effectively present the critical corporate data driving their business decisions. Users will learn to filter out irrelevant data, highlight exceptional data, do calculations and summaries, create crosstab reports and organise the results. Students will be able to apply formatting techniques to present a professional end result.

Web Reports 6.0 / Series 7 - Server Administration This course provides a complete understanding of how to configure the Impromptu Web Reports server software and administer the run request processing environments. Delegates will examine the architecture and installation of IWR components, directory servers, LDAP concepts, authentication and performance issues. Using exercises that stress practical application, graduates will apply what they have learned to their own business environment. Students will learn how to configure the IWR components and monitor server activity to successfully examine report and resource usage as well as troubleshoot system performance issues.

Participants will focus on how to create, maintain and update effective PowerPlay applications that deliver relevant and timely data to the user. They will learn how to meet the needs of their user community and accommodate potential changes to reporting requirements and source data. Key learning outcomes of this course are: planning, designing and working with a model plan, understanding and organising multiple data sources, working with measures and the time dimension and customising the model for specific business requirements.
